Week 7: Stand

Forces of evil. Schemes of the devil. Flaming darts thrown in the heavenly realms. This sounds like something straight out of Star Wars or some other science-fiction epic. But this stuff is in the Bible! If it is true that there is a battle happening in the spiritual places, should we be afraid? To the contrary, through Jesus we avail ourselves to a heavenly armor against a defeated foe. We have all we need to stand against the all-too-real and everyday attempts of a present darkness that attempts to ruin the true life that is yours in Christ.

Week 6: Knowing The Enemy

We are engaged in an unseen war. It is a battle between two kingdoms: light and darkness, good and evil, heaven and hell. It’s a spiritual battle with one whom the Bible refers to as a dragon, serpent, murderer, liar, thief and many other terms. Satan comes against us seeking to draw us away from God, to deny God’s purposes and glory in our life, and ultimately to destroy us. This struggle is a deliberate, willful, well-designed war initiated by the devil who holds far too many of us in bondage. Join us as we learn how Jesus gives us victory and freedom over our greatest enemy.

Week 4: Your Marriage - Demo Day

It’s demo day, so grab your hammers. But before we swing toward our spouse, chances are we need to take a look at what is going on in our hearts. This time we pick back up in the sermon to address electrical problems like husbands who are not great Spiritual leaders, and plumbing issues like wives who seem like dripping faucets on occasion. We’ll also check for any termites that may be damaging the foundation of the relationship. Do you have what it takes for this fixer upper?

Everyone wants the open floor plan these days. New floors, update the cabinets, take down that wall – and we’ll be living the dream! But do we have the tools to do pull it off? Like homes, many relationships today, especially marriages, are in need of some work – some more major than others. Some relationship conditions require simple updates; others, a massive overhaul. Over the next three weeks we will see that Jesus not only changes our identity, but He also desires for us to experience a slice of heaven in our homes – in our relationships – and gives us practical help to pull it off through His plans, tools and finishes to find harmony in our home.

Most of us tend to do all right managing life. But as the demands in life increase and the pressure mounts, we become frustrated, stressed out, even angry. What happened to love, joy, peace and God’s power in our life? The enemy to the “new me” is spelled S-E-L-F. The self-life has usurped the filling of God’s Spirit and the result is a life characterized by what the Bible calls “flesh.” In this message, we explore the New Me that is filled with God’s Spirit.

So what happens after we believe in Jesus? What kind of spiritual transactions take place? Are there any kind of guarantees with this new life? Actually yes, there are. Being completely new in Christ, we learn there are promises we can take to the bank – promises that fill our hearts with hope that we are completely secure.
