Faith Stories
"Loved and Secure" by Janet Graves
The sudden death of my father when I was a child left me feeling abandoned and insecure. Everything familiar changed in a heartbeat. But then as a teen, I was introduced to the love of God through Jesus Christ. Knowing that my Father God will never leave me to face life's challenges on my own has given me a secure home base. Now I don't have to live in fear of what tomorrow will bring!
"A Clean Sweep" by Marleen Taylor Shortly after placing my faith in Christ, I began to clean. Soon I rid myself of books, magazines, records, and anything else that seemed in contrast to the gospel or God's Word. I knew that if Jesus were in my room, I would be ashamed. This upset my mom who claimed I was doing too much for Jesus! "How can you do too much for someone who died for you?" I asked. Guarding my thinking and allowing God's Word to transform and change me has matured my faith and radically changed my life.
"Baby Steps = Big Blessings" by Holly Upton
It only seems like “baby steps” that I’ve taken for the Lord, but when I look back at where I stood and then see where He’s lead…it becomes a trek only He could have achieved in me! First steps took me into a precious Home Group that still surrounds my family with phone calls, playgroups, Christmas cards, and outings. From there I joined Bible Studies and WOW; more friendships, fellowship, and REAL godly women! Women’s Ministry helps me plug-in to my gift of organization and Children’s Ministry helps me keep my childlike faith in perspective. Little steps, BIG obedience, and even BIGGER blessings for His kingdom! That’s my daily prayer!
"WOW Bible Study Changes A Life" by Margie Deck
I started coming to BACC in February. I had been praying for a long time for God to give me a deeper relationship with Him. In the summer, I attended the WOW study by Beth Moore. I learned that if I am too critical of myself, then I am actually rejecting God's love for me. She also said that the way to really know God's love for me was to immerse myself in the Word of God by memorizing it and growing in prayer. So I did that and God has given me a whole new love, joy, and power in Him. I am now committed to making disciples. I want others to know Him and His incredible love too.
