WHAT TO EXPECT ON SUNDAY AT BAY AREA

What should I wear?

You will notice people dressed in what is comfortable for them, from suits and dresses to jeans with sneakers. Come as you are.

Where do i go?

Our gatherings take place in two distinct yet unified worship environments on Sunday mornings. Our 7:50 a.m. gathering is in our Chapel, a more traditional space with pews and tall windows. This gathering features live preaching and worship, offering softer music and a more contemplative atmosphere to respond to God. At our 9:20 a.m. and 11:20 a.m. gatherings, we have live worship in both the Chapel and our Auditorium, a larger space with more passionate and celebratory music. At these two gatherings, the preaching is live in the Auditorium and live-streamed into the Chapel. We encourage you to check out both spaces.

How about the preaching?

Relevant biblical teaching from either our Lead Pastor, Greg St. Cyr, or our Teaching Pastor, Pat Linnell. We strive to have a healthy ratio of topical messages to messages rooted in a specific book of the Bible, always giving priority to the Spirit’s leading.

Will I have to say anything, sign anything, give anything, or be singled out in any way?

Nope.

What about my kids?

Bay Area has exuberant children's and student ministries that encourage children ages birth through 12th grade to develop passion for Jesus and compassion for others.

  • Birth - 5th Grade - Please visit the Children’s Welcome Counter located centrally in the lobby to check your children in. Our children's ministry uses KidCheck as a way to keep your children safe and secure. Your child will receive a name tag and you will receive a guardian receipt. Only approved guardians with matching receipts will be allowed to pick up your child.
  • 6th – 12th Grade - Your student(s) are able to check themselves in at the Check-In counter inside of our student facility called The Warehouse.

If you have specific questions about our children's or student ministry gatherings, please contact Gail Wiles for Children's Ministry or Brent Squires for Student Ministry.

How often do you serve communion?

We practice an open table for all followers of Jesus.  As a congregation we take communion together every 4th Sunday of the month.  Communion is also available every week at the conclusion of each gathering at a designated spot toward the front of the auditorium or Chapel.

What happens after the worship gathering?

At the conclusion of each worship gathering people gather in the Bay Café for coffee and refreshments. This is a valued time to connect with people in a relaxed atmosphere or sign up for upcoming events, communities, or studies.
